Campbell River Senior Peer Counselling Program
This program has been serving men and women aged 55+ since 2007. Trained senior volunteers spend regular time with seniors who are in need of emotional support. Issues such as life changes, grief, isolation, and health changes can be difficult to deal with alone. Senior Peer Counsellors are trained to provide emotional support. Access to this program is by self-referral or by referral from other healthcare agencies.
Funding is provided for this program through a grant from the United Way of Central-Northern Vancouver Island and a Community Gaming Grant through the Province of British Columbia.
